Things to Do in Los Angeles:
At Value Hotels Los Angeles we want you to have the best stay possible in Los Angeles. We have created a non-exhaustive list of things to do that might take your fancy in this expansive city. (see getting here for travel information) It is impossible to cover everything that Los Angeles has to offer on just one page so here are a few things that we would recommend to ensure you see LA at its best:
Sunset Strip: Sunset Strip is the nerve center of Los Angeles night life. It is part of Sunset Boulevard that stretches from West Hollywood to Beverly Hills. It is home to exclusive night clubs, restaurants and boutiques, which are frequented by Hollywood stars. There are many celebrities who live close to the strip, including Paris Hilton, Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Keanu Reeves, and so on. You might just chance upon your favorite movie star when you are visiting here.
Hollywood Walk of Fame: Talk about stars coming down from heaven!
This star studded sidewalk is the closest you might come to walking
with the stars! This 1.5 mile stretch along Hollywood Boulevard and Vine
Street has over 2,000 stars embedded in it. They honour celebrities from
the entertainment industry for their contribution to the industry. They
represent famous
people from different genres of entertainment, ranging from movie
stars, TV actors, directors, musicians, theater personalities, and even
fictional characters. The best part is it's one of the free things to do
in Los Angeles.
Natural History Museum of Los Angeles: The Natural History Museum
of Los Angeles is located in Exposition Park, opposite the University
of Southern California. This museum covers the history of our planet,
from dinosaurs, to mammals, to birds, to insects, to gems and minerals,
to artifacts from ancient Latin America, and American history. There are
also many activities and programs for kids, which make this an amazing
experience for everyone, and one of the most exciting things to do in Los
Angeles.
Disneyland: Disneyland needs no introduction. Located in Anaheim,
to the south of Los Angeles. This is like a dream come true for every
child and the "inner child" in all of us. It is a land of fantasy and
adventure. A place where all the Disney characters we have grown up with
and love them like real life characters. Some of the favourite Disney
characters are Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Snow
White and Sleeping Beauty. This place has something for everyone of
every age - family adventures, thrill rides, performances, parades and
fireworks. If on a family trip, it is definitely one of the fun things to do with kids in
Los Angeles.
Universal Studios: Universal Studios calls itself the
"Entertainment Capital of L.A.", and quite possibly is. This theme park
offers thrill rides and shows based on movies produced by the studio
like - The Mummy, Jurassic Park, Terminator, Shrek, etc. Kids get to
meet their favorite cartoon characters - Dora the Explorer, SpongeBob
SquarePants, Scooby-Doo, and many more. You also get to see the movie
sets of some blockbuster movies, and witness some secrets of the
movie-making process. This is a true Hollywood experience.
Santa Monica Beach: The Santa Monica beach and pier are quite
popular among Los Angelenos. The 2 mile stretch of Santa Monica beach is
a perfect place for swimming, surfing, sunbathing, and playing
volleyball; and the Santa Monica pier features the Pacific Park
Amusement Park with a big ferris wheel, a carousel, and many restaurants
and shops, making it one of the fun things to do in Los Angeles. More
on best beaches.
Los Angeles Zoo: The Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens are a
popular tourist destination in Los Angeles. The zoo contains over 1,000
animals including reptiles, birds and mammals; and the botanical garden
contains over 800 species of plants. Some of the animals in the zoo are
chimpanzee, gorilla, orangutan, tiger, leopard, jaguar, elephant, zebra,
lion, kangaroo, koala, hippopotamus, rhinoceros, ostrich and many more.
